Religious Education For Children: We are committed to supporting parents as they raise their children in the Catholic faith. When parents have their children baptized, they promise to raise them as disciples of Jesus Christ within his Catholic Church. Parents are the primary and best educators of their children, because they provide a daily example of how to live one's life, in every aspect of life. Attending Mass on weekends and Holy Days of Obligation, and and participating in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, are the foundations of teaching children the love of God and the love for others.
For children who do not receive faith formation at a Catholic school, we partner with Sacred Heart in La Plata in the St. John Paul II Regional Faith Formation Program. This program is for children who attend public school in grades K-8 to receive their religious education.
Classes are held on Sundays from 10:20-11:30 AM at Archbishop Neale School. Registration is now open online for the 2023-2024 school year, which begins on Sunday, October 15th. To register, click here.
If this program is inconvenient for your child or your family, please contact Father Keith, so we can discuss some alternative arrangements.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA): RCIA is the process through which people join the Catholic Church, or through which already baptized members of the Church complete their Sacraments of Initiation: First Eucharist and/or Confirmation. Sessions will be held in the Cooper Room of St. Catherine's Hall, beginning on Thursday, September 21st, at 7:30 p.m., and continuing on Thursdays through the spring.
If you would like to become Catholic or would like to complete your initiation, contact Father Keith.
